DESCRIPTION:Dukes Nose. \nThis month we travel North for a fun shorter out and back run along the Wairakau Steam trail and up onto Dukes Nose. This peak provides some outstanding views over the Whangaroa Harbor. It’s a mix of single trail and forestry trail with a few stream crossings and a little rock scramble and climbing to get up to the top of the rock. Trail shoes absolutely recommended for this one. \nDate: 28th June 2026\nStart Time: 9:00am\nLocation: Trail Head begins from the end of Wairakau Road.\nDistance: Approximately 12km total.

DESCRIPTION:Week 3 of the Hatea Winter Trail Series. \nWeek 3 brings us to the eastern side trails of the Parihaka reserve. Beginning from the Abbey Caves car park\, runners will take the link trail downhill to the forestry ridge road where they will turn left and head up the service road towards the Parihaka summit. Half way to the top runners will take a left hand turn along the forestry road to the turnaround point a retrace their tracks back to the start. \n5:30pm Registration\n6:00pm Race Start \nFree for Hatea Run members. \n$5 koha for non members. \nBring your headlight\, a good pair of trail shoe and some high vis gear to have some fun on the night time trails.
