DESCRIPTION:The Hatea Winter Night Series returns once again. \nThis year there will be 5 trail night runs as part of the series. Ranging from 4.4-5km and each week will be in a unique location. \nFirst up! Week one will begin from the Waimahunga trail entrance\, and run along the Waimahunga track for 2.5km before turning and returning along the same path. \nRegister on the night from 5:30pm\, race starts at 6:00pm \nCome along and try your hand at some night trail running in a fun new way. \nFree for Hatea Run members. \n$5 koha for non members.

DESCRIPTION:Week 2 of the Hatea Winter Trail Series. \nWeek 2 brings us to the Hatea river trail from Mair park. This is a double out and back along the Hatea river trail after first crossing the bridge from the Mair park side. You’ll turn right and head to the south end of the trail before turning back and heading to the north end of the trail and then back to the bridge and up to the start/finish line. \n5:30pm Registration\n6:00pm Race Start \nBring your headlight and some high vis gear and havew some fun on the night time trails.

DESCRIPTION:Dukes Nose. \nThis month we travel North for a fun shorter out and back run along the Wairakau Steam trail and up onto Dukes Nose. This peak provides some outstanding views over the Whangaroa Harbor. It’s a mix of single trail and forestry trail with a few stream crossings and a little rock scramble and climbing to get up to the top of the rock. Trail shoes absolutely recommended for this one. \nDate: 28th June 2026\nStart Time: 9:00am\nLocation: Trail Head begins from the end of Wairakau Road.\nDistance: Approximately 12km total.
