Mair Park Whareora Vale Trifecta Night Race 2024 – Results

Jul 7, 2024 | Hatea Night Series | 0 comments

The third event of the 2024 Hatea Night Series, the Mair Park T Run, is always special as we get to run along the river our club is named after! David Nielsen flew through the 4.8km course, clinching first place with a speedy time of 18:51. Alan Staite wasn’t far behind, taking second at 20:33, and Josh Wynniatt rounded out the top three at 20:43. The night was cool and perfect for running, and the course, with its river crossings and climbs, provided a great challenge for everyone.

A big shoutout to our fabulous volunteers: Hayden Bell, Mal Wordell, Christine Fraser, Kirsty Hamlin, and Alan Staite. They didn’t run (except Alan) but made sure everything ran smoothly. And hey, special mention to Mal Wordell, who’ll be stepping up to the plate next week as both Hayden and Dennis are off on a wee break. Cheers, Mal, you’re a legend!

The competition was fierce, with Alex Watson and Dwayne Collecutt giving it a solid nudge, to snag fourth and fifth place, respectively. The vibe was fantastic, with plenty of banter and support among the runners. Whether you were a seasoned pro or just out for a good time, it was a night to remember.

All in all, it was a night full of sweat, smiles, and a bit of friendly rivalry. The Hatea Run community once again proved that it’s not just about the run, but about coming together, having a laugh, and enjoying the journey. Can’t wait for the next one up in Tikipunga – bring it on!

Thanks to Chubby Upton for the neat view of everyone heading out along Hatea river.
