2025 Hatea Grand Prix – Event 4 Results

Evening All!

Another warm day in the Winterless North greeted 62 competitors for round 4 of the Hatea Grand Prix on Wednesday evening at Tikipunga Sports park.

Unfortunately what was a glorious evening of running was somewhat soured by teenagers wearing Tikipunga high school and Kamo High School uniforms who thought it would be a smart idea to throw mud at us as we ran past. Unfortunately though not only is the dirt on us, its now on them as the police have been informed and the Hatea Committee will put measures in place to ensure it does not happen again. Rest assured the safety of our members and participants is at the forefront of everything we do.

Anyway back to the racing, it was awesome to see so many of our runners backing up from their epic performances at the Tarawera Ultra Marathon at this evenings Grand Prix. Most participants seem to have got the hang of the bonus points with only 15 missing out tonight. With Event 5 being the last round there will be a whopping 20 bonus points for those who have run consistently faster through out the series. Have fun working out the final permutations over the next week!

As always thank you to Dennis and crew of mighty volunteers, and Riccardo for taking the epic pictures which can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1174328458029486&type=3

 Till next time Happy Running
