Hatea Covid-19 Event Rules
Hatea Harriers meet three times a week to run together in a group or in a series of groups. Under the New Zealand governments Covid Protection Framework, we have had to review how we run all three of these events and any other events in the future. As a result, we are publishing our Hatea Covid-19 rules, which will impact any events or races which have the potential to have more than 25 participants and fundamentally have to start with a single group of people. We have based our decision around the CPF rules documented by Sport New Zealand.
HATEA EVENTS AT RED
- My Vaccine Pass is in use
- Pre-Registration required
- Scan into the event with your Contact Tracing App
We regularly exceed 25 people for the Hatea 5k & other similar events, so only those with a valid My Vaccine Pass can take part.
Attendees will need to arrive in time to pre-register for the run by entering their names on the form and having your Covid passport validated by one of the Hatea volunteers. Scanning the Hatea QR code using your Contact Tracing app is recommended and encouraged.
Please respect the Hatea Harrier volunteers running this event and make their jobs as easy as possible.
HATEA EVENTS AT ORANGE
- My Vaccine Pass is in use
- Pre-Registration required
- Scan into the event with your Contact Tracing App
We occasionally exceed 50 people for the Hatea 5k & other similar events. To simplify things, the club committee decided to apply the same rules under this setting. So again, only those with a valid My Vaccine Pass can take part.

HATEA EVENTS AT GREEN
- My Vaccine Pass is NOT in use
- Scan into the event with your Contact Tracing App
At this stage we don’t anticipate getting close to 100 people attending the Hatea 5k (not parkrun) & other similar events. So we don’t feel the need to restrict the event to those with valid My Vaccine Passes.
We reserve the right to change the rules should the numbers exceed the provisions in the Covid Protection Framework.
Hatea 5k timing
As you cross the line, you will be handed a finishing number. Please return to the registration form and enter your finishing position next to your name. At a later time, a Hatea volunteer will match your finishing position with your race time from the official timing app. All race results will be published on the Hatea website and Facebook page within 24 hours.
Hatea Covid-19 Rules for other weekly events
At this stage, the format and typical attendee numbers mean we don’t require My Vaccine Pass validation. This means the Wednesday evening pack run & Sunday morning group runs in Glenbervie are both open for all to attend. We reserve the right to change the rules should the numbers exceed the provisions in the Covid Protection Framework.
