2024 Hatea Grand Prix – Event 5 Results
In the ultimate showdown of the Hatea Grand Prix series, Sam Rout smashed his way to victory, snagging the top dog spot overall with a stellar time of 19:10. He was ripping it in the male 0-49 age group, grabbing the number one spot there too. Right on his tail was Allan Staite, who nailed down second place overall and in the male 0-49 category with a time of 19:14. Then, Tim Goodwin, showing some serious hustle in the older blokes’ category (male 50+), scooped up third place overall with a time of 19:21.
Hannah Thompson was absolutely flying among the sheilas, landing herself in the top spot for the female 0-49 age group and 11th overall with a time of 22:19. Meanwhile, Kay Lengyel showed her class in the female 50+ age group, clinching the number one spot with a time of 23:24. It was a crack-up race with heaps of talent from all ages and genders giving it heaps out there on the track.
In the Male 0-49 crew, Allan Staite nailed it with 124 points, with Matt Dyer shooting up the ranks keeping him honest. Over in the seasoned fellas’ league (50+), Tim Goodwin kept his foot on the gas, hitting the top spot with a commanding 155 points, while the wiley Tommy Monaghan signed off on construction of his epic showing over the last 5 weeks. Among the ladies 0-49, Hannah Thompson dominated the track, scoring a crushing 150 points and taking the crown. But not to be upstaged, in the Women’s 50+ squad, Dianne Zucchetto ruled the roost with 152 points, showing she’s still got plenty of gas in the tank. These top dogs proved they’re the ones to beat, inspiring the rest of the crew to hook into loads of training in readiness for the upcoming Night Series.
