Last Sunday of the Month Run – Kerikeri River Trail

The final event of the Hatea Run Night Series for the winter of 2025 was an absolute blast! Our Downhill Flying Kilometer event along the concrete path next to the railway was the perfect way to wrap up the series. A huge thank you to everyone who came along over the past five weeks. Your participation has been fantastic, and it’s been awesome to see such a strong turnout with 176 finishers in total, thats up 22 on last year! Also, a massive shoutout to our 25 dedicated volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without you.

Special thanks go to Dennis, Damian, Kim, Liz, Hayden and Julia for their stellar help tonight. Your support ensured everything ran smoothly and safely.

As for tonight’s race, congratulations to Allan Staite for taking the top spot with an impressive time of 3:06 flat. Josh Wynniatt and Tim Goodwin were nipping at his heels to round out the top 3. clocking in at 3:06 and 3:08 respectively. Top 3 ladies were DJ Gillming (3.56), Terrianne Appleton (4.16), and Nadine Fisher (4.23). Top 3 Juniors were Elijah Nielsen (3.27), Blake Antonio 3.44, and Lachie Van Holst 5.03. All these surnames look very familiar, the future at Hatea looks bright!
