Hatea Night Series Results from Tikipunga Sports Park 2025

By Hayden Bell

Last Sunday of the Month Run – Kerikeri River Trail

Kia ora all.

Event 4 tonight was at Tikipunga Sports Park, on the exact same track we run the Summer Grand Prix on, however theres the added elements of running in the dark with headlamps, wet conditions, and soft sometimes slippery conditions under foot. Add all that together and its somewhat the same but completley different! yell

26 participants attended tonight, which was the same amount at this event in 2024.

David Nielsen brought home the win with an impressive time of 18:57, followed by Tim Goodwin, and Josh Wynniatt.

Young Elijah Nielsen had another impressive run and an exciting finish nabbing 5th place off Steve Fairley in the last 20 metres. In all fairness to Steve, he is old enough to be Elijahs grandfather.

Emma Steedman was first lady home with a time of 25.33.

A big thank you to Dennis, Julia, Kim, Liz, Jen, and Hayden for running the event.

Next week is the final event of Night Series. The Flying Down Hill Kilometre details visit here https://hatea.run/event/the-2025-downhill-flying-kilometer/

This will be followed by a small gathering at Frings Bar & Grille from about 6.30pm.

Congratulations on reading this far but I’m tired of typing now. Here are your results!
