The 2nd event in the Hātea Run 2024 Winter Night Series, the Waimahanga Out and Back, was a ripper! An impressive 42 runners showed up, proving that the Hātea Run community has some serious enthusiasm and grit. Fahd Hussain smashed it, coming in first with a time of 19:32, followed by Tim Goodwin and Josh Wynniatt. It was a mixed bag of seasoned pros and eager newbies, all coming together for a night of friendly competition and fun.
It’s great to see so many keen beans willing to brave the evening chill for a bit of a run. The turnout was a real testament to the event’s growing popularity and the awesome sense of community it fosters. Whether you were at the front of the pack or just happy to make it to the finish line, every runner added to the night’s buzz and energy.
Massive shoutout to Kirsty Hamlin, Dennis Langford and Hayden Bell for pulling off another cracker of an event. These legends made sure everything ran smoothly, from marking the trail to making everyone feel welcome. Their hard work behind the scenes didn’t go unnoticed and definitely contributed to the night’s success.
All in all, the Waimahanga Out and Back was a beaut example of what makes the Hātea Run community so special. Congrats to everyone who took part, and a big thanks again to Dennis and Hayden for their stellar organization. We’re all looking forward to the next event in the series, so keep those headlamps handy and stay keen!
